The glorious gospel of Christ

The gospel is the good news about Christ's glory

Christ is the image of God, the effulgence of God's glory, illuminating human hearts

The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers so that the light of the gospel does not shine on them

2 Cor. 4:4 "The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God."

Heb. 1:3 "The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word."

Christ Jesus as Lord

The gospel proclaims the lordship of Christ Jesus

Christ is God, became man, was crucified, resurrected, and exalted as Lord

The apostles preached Christ Jesus as Lord, not themselves

Rom. 9:5 "...Christ, who is God over all, forever praised." Acts 4:10-12 "...by the name of Jesus Christ...Salvation is found in no one else..."

Acts 13:33 "God has fulfilled this for us, their children, by raising up Jesus."

Acts 2:36 "...God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah."

2 Cor. 4:6 "For God, who said, 'Let light shine out of darkness,' made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God's glory displayed in the face of Christ."

2 Cor. 4:5 "For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake."

The illumination of the gospel

The gospel illuminates, shines, and radiates in human hearts

The gospel reveals Christ's glory, enlightening human minds

If one's heart is not veiled, they can see the light of the gospel

The apostles' attitude of service

The apostles considered themselves servants of believers for Jesus' sake

Exalting Christ as Lord while humbly serving believers

The apostles did not preach themselves but Christ, and themselves as servants
