Having God's Life

Born-again believers possess eternal life given by God

1. This is God's own life

2. It is eternal and incorruptible

3. Has divine nature

Jesus said in John's Gospel: "I am the life"

1. Live out the divine life

2. Express God's life in daily living

3. Experience and enjoy this divine life

- John 10:10 "I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly."

- John 11:25 "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live."

- 1 John 5:11-13 "God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son."

- 1 John 1:5 "God is light and in Him there is no darkness at all."

- 1 John 4:8,16 "God is love... God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him."

Having God's Nature

Believers partake of God's divine nature

1. God's nature refers to what God is

2. Includes God's riches, elements, and constituents

3. Imparted to believers through regeneration

Believers receive divine nature at regeneration, like a seed containing its life and nature

1. Enjoy what God is

2. Live out God's nature

3. Express God's attributes in living

Having God's Image

Believers are gradually transformed into God's image in life and nature

1. Not in Godhead but in life and nature

2. Similar to God in life and nature

3. A progressive process

Like mirrors reflecting the Lord's glory, being transformed into His image

1. Express God's image in living

2. Live out God's likeness in character

3. Reflect God's attributes in conduct

- 2 Peter 1:3-7 "His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness... applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence..."

- Galatians 2:20 "It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God."

- 2 Corinthians 12:9 "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness."

- Ephesians 3:20 "Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think."

- Philippians 4:19 "And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus."

Having God's Riches

Enjoying and experiencing all God's riches

1. Enjoyed through God's promises

2. Includes all aspects of God's nature

3. Requires escaping world's corruption

Paul said: "My God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus"

1. Enjoy God's riches

2. Experience God's supply

3. Draw upon God's riches in living
